Paris is located ninety eight miles northeast of the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex in Lamar County, specifically Northeast Texas, at the western edge of the Piney Woods. The Paris Junior College is one of the oldest in Texas. The Culbertson Fountain, Lake Crook and Bywaters Park are the main areas of attraction. The city is served by two U.S. Highways.
