Nocona is located in Montague County, Texas. Nocona has a proud history of leather works and has been home to Montague Boot Company. The Nocona Athletic Goods Company, engaged in manufacturing bats, baseball gloves and other sports accessories is also an important contributor to the cities economy. Lake Nocona which is about ten miles north of the city is a popular recreational spot in north central Texas.
